didactica – continuing education in teaching and learning at UZH and ETH Zurich

Content

The «didactica» programme is intended for instructors and persons involved in teaching at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich at all levels. Its aim is to promote the development of comprehensive teaching proficiency at every stage of the academic career. Based on a model of the fields of activity in higher education, didactica courses cover the entire spectrum of higher education topics. Many courses, titled accordingly, address specific aspects of selected disciplines or certain target groups.

Aims

All courses not only provide new input, but also encourage the active processing and implementation of the knowledge gained. The emphasis is laid on critical and discursive reflection and the application of acquired knowledge in participants’ own teaching.

Fees

Staff members of the UZH and ETH Zurich: free of charge

Members of other accredited Swiss higher education institutions: fee of CHF 200 per half day

Attendance policy Registration is binding and participation in the entire course.i.e. a minimum of 80% of the course, is required. Cancellations are accepted up to two weeks before the course begins. Unless grounds are urgent, cancellation after the cancellation deadline, unexcused absence, no-show or incomplete participation (< 80% of the course) will result in a one-year exclusion from all didactica courses. Grounds must be submitted in writing, with the pertaining documentation, to the didactica administration office.
