Description

Heart failure is an emerging epidemic owing to the growing and ageing population. As such, novel educational programmes for physicians to develop professional competence in all aspects of care for patients with acute and/ or chronic heart failure are needed. Therefore, in 2014, the University Hospital Zurich developed the postgraduate course in heart failure (PCHF) to train cardiologists in modern heart failure management. The PCHF programme is based on the curriculum for heart failure published by the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and organised by the University of Zurich. Upon successful completion a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Heart Failure of the University of Zurich (CAS UZH in Heart Failure) is awarded.
